Go to the following link and please support this cause and write a letter to paramoutn pictures about changing their cast of all white main characters for their Avatar the Last Airbender movie!

this is the letter I wrote to the people in charge of the movie in case anybody needs any ideas of what to write!

To Ms. Kennedy and Mr. Marshall:

I am writing on behalf of the cast you have chosen for your upcoming film based on the popular series on Nickelodeon, "Avatar: The Last Airbender". I'm glad that you have taken the time to read my letter and I hope that you can hear me out, and possibly make some changes to your cast.

The show itself has made a foundation on Chinese and Inuit culture. And I Found it a great improvement on the average American cartoon that would focus mainly on the aspects of our own American culture rather than to enrich our understanding of the Asian culture. The show featured many things such as clothing, customs, food, Chinese kanji, and of course, Martial arts.

The part of your film that has rather disappointed me is your choice to make the cast of this movie to star all White actors. I believe that by making this choice you are disregarding this beautiful culture, and the whole idea of The show has been extinguished.

If you go forward with the cast that you have currently, then I regret to inform you that I will not be supporting this movie with my money and will encourage my friends and family to do the same.

Very nicely-put letter! I'm not happy with the cast either, but I doubt they'll listen to anything I have to say. I think Mike and Bryan will be more likely to make an impact than I, so that kind of discourages me from doing much. *shrug* It's pretty much a lose-lose situation here, because a majority of the fans are going to go out of curiosity and the execs know it. They don't HAVE to change anything because they'll get money either way.

I probably won't even see the movie cause they probably wouldn't even do the show justice. But by the letter you want Aang to be asian?

See, that wouldn't be right either. The cast needs to be mixed. Sokka and Katara are obviously Inuit/Native American and there are lots of other cultures involved than just "Asian." And I personally think that Aang looks Caucasian when bald. It's more than just a white/Asian issue.

Native americans originally branched off of polynesian descendents, which were asian. and the whole show was full of asian culture.
